The theory, principles and practice of environmental impact assessment to identify and mitigate adverse environmental effects of development projects and natural resource use. Environmental assessment is examined in the context of Canadian and Manitoba legislation and practice. Canadian environmental impact assessment practice is compared and contrasted to that applicable in the USA and in other countries. Assignments involve practical experiences, case studies and report preparation.
