Prerequisites: 54:155 and 54:156 or permission of Instructor.

An examination of developments in Western Canada from the beginnings of the European-Aboriginal fur trade to the completion of Confederation and the construction of the C.P.R. Special attention will be paid to fur trade economic and social history, and to the Canadian takeover of the West.
