An essential for adult learners, early on, is to understand the whole and the parts. In this case, the orientation (synchronized) is designed to provide an overview of the certificate and why it is important, along with what is involved in this certificate, and how they will complete it. This will also include instruction on working with Moodle and the course materials, readings, lecture notes, power points, and where to submit assignments and pick up marks and provide feedback. Also, students will be asked to complete their own learning styles assessment (i.e. Kolb’s learning styles) and discuss the combined learning pattern of the class and the implications. They will also discuss the implications of their own learning styles.
