A survey of modern computer architectures.Topics include: addressing techniques and instruction sequencing; micro-programmed processor implementation; I/O data transfer synchronization, interrupts, DMA, SCSI, VMEbus; memory systems; ALU design; pipelining and high-performance processors; representative designs; MC680X0, Intel 80X86, DEC Alpha, PowerPC; parallel processors.
