82:356 Psychology of Aging [Newall]

Prerequisite: Both of the following: 82:160, 82:161, plus one of 82:274 OR 82:275 OR 6 credit hours in Psychology beyond 82.160 and 82.161.

What does it mean for you to be an adult and to grow older in our society? This course is designed to provide you an opportunity to examine your beliefs as you learn about scientific theories and empirical findings related to physical, psychological, and social changes in adulthood. Themes that are emphasized throughout the course include: lifelong learning and development; positive images of aging; and bio-psycho-social influences on aging.
