54:456 Imperialism, Resistance and Decolonization, 1800-Present [Harms]

Prerequisite: 12 credit hours of History or permission of Instructor.

The central goal of this course is to explore the historiography of imperialism and decolonization. The readings will present some of the primary questions and ideas within the historiography such as the creation of the "other", the "exotic native", and "orientalism".
