The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) is a law passed in 2013 that provides a long-term, proactive approach to making our province more inclusive for everyone.  The AMA includes five accessibility standards that will address barriers for Manitobans in five key areas of daily living: customer service, employment, information and communications, transportation and built environment.  This course will introduce the Accessibility Standard for Customer Service, which was passed as law on November 1, 2015.  Participants will learn about types of barriers experienced by persons with disabilities and what we can do to help remove barriers for accessible and respectful communication and interaction.
