Prerequisite: Acceptance in the Clinical Counselling stream or permission of Department Chair.
This course provides an examination of group counselling theory and skills from both a Western and Indigenous perspective with attention given to the group theory and acquisition of Indigenous leadership skills. Ethical considerations will be addressed as well as the application of relational systems perspectives. Using blended theoretical approaches, attachment issues, reconceptualization of family of origin in the group, boundary setting and individual/relational dynamics will be examined.
3 lecture hours per week, one term.
