This course establishes a framework for a systematic approach to the comprehensive assessment of physical, developmental, psychological, spiritual and social aspects of individuals. It will emphasize the acquisition of knowledge and skills which enable the student to differentiate between normal and abnormal, to identify needs of individuals, to make decisions regarding psychiatric nursing care, and to record appropriate documentation. Assessment of family functioning will be introduced.
