71:440 Professional Nursing: Opportunities & Challenges [Hyndman]

Prerequisites: Completion of Year III courses of B.N. program.

This course will allow students to examine in-depth challenges for both individual professional practise and the ongoing development of nursing as a profession. A variety of factors such as work environment, public policy, socio-economic, and political environments will be examined in light of the impact on professional practise. Emphasis will be placed on opportunities for those engaged in professional nursing practise to promote high quality of health care through leadership that is grounded in a personal philosophy of nursing and a commitment to ethical decision-making.
