Prerequisite: 30:274 or permission of Instructor.

This course introduces students to the short fiction form and to various strategies for writing short fiction. Topics for study include structure, plot, voice, point of view, character, and meaning. The course requires the completion of in-class exercises, regular writing assignments, a term project, and assigned readings.
