71:440 Professional Nursing: Opportunities and Challenges [Care]

Prerequisites: Completion of Year III courses of B.N. program.

This course will allow students to examine in-depth challenges for both individual professional practice and the ongoing development of nursing as a profession. A variety of factors such as work environment, public policy, socio-economic, and political environments will be examined in light of the impact on professional practice. Emphasis will be placed on opportunities for those engaged in professional nursing practice to promote high quality of health care through leadership that is grounded in a personal philosophy of nursing and a commitment to ethical decision-making.
