Through the reading of several texts representative of Western philosophical thought we will explore some of the most basic philosophical questions and topics: What is the nature of reality?, Do we have an essential nature?, Does life have meaning?, Can I be sure that what I know is true?, Does being good really matter?, and What can we hope for?
