A study of the beginnings and rapid expansion of Christianity, with special focus on the Jewish and Greco-Roman contexts in which the religion evolved. Critical examination of key texts, such as the New Testament and the Apostolic Fathers, will permit examination of diverse Christian beliefs, customs, ritual and law.
