An introduction to sentential logic and informal fallacies of reasoning. Taking the sentence as the basic semantic unit, and through the concepts of deductive validity and logical form, students will learn to use truth tables and natural deduction for assessing the validity of arguments. The general aim is to give students a better understanding of what logical reasoning is, of how to interpret the meaning of sentences, and of various logical fallacies we are inclined to make.
